Ecological crisis, civilisational collapse and the terminal crisis of classical Marxism.

Or the need for a revolutionary theory in the face of collapse

The following is a compilation of the first four sections of a debate on the theoretical-programmatic implications of the advance of the contemporary ecological crisis and the horizon of a possible near civilisational collapse for the Marxist strategic framework. It postulates the existence of an important theoretical and political crisis at the level of the current anti-capitalist organisations as a whole, which have so far shown an almost total incapacity to advance to a programmatic reflection on the level of these dangers. This is discussed by assuming the importance for the field of socialist revolution of evaluating, in the face of the phenomenon of planetary collapse that is beginning to develop, the historical validity of the basic precepts of classical Marxist theory as a tool and theoretical guide for revolutionary action in the present.

One of the key ideas defended in this publication is that the theoretical and political bases of classical Marxism (and of all the political programmes derived from it) were conceived and elaborated in the framework of a historical (modernity) and geological (Holocene) epoch different from the one that is beginning to develop today, marked by the imminence of a super-catastrophic historical-epocal scenario characterised by the establishment of a new planetary reality. From here, in the face of the post-modern perspective of the advance of a series of hyper-destructive phenomena such as the beginning of the VI mass extinction of terrestrial life and the epoch of the Anthropocene, the importance of beginning a process of urgent theoretical-programmatic and political reflection in the face of the challenges of the great civilisational crisis that is approaching is raised, the latter highlighting the imperative need for the creation of a new Marxist programmatic framework adapted to the new era of planetary collapse that has already begun to take its first steps.

On this path, a call is made to all revolutionary militants of the world committed to the destiny of humanity and civilisation to form tendencies and fractions in their respective organisations in order to prepare and carry out internal political insurrections aimed at forcibly imposing on the negationist leaderships and central committees the discussion of the problems of the catastrophic ecological-energy crisis and the imminent collapse of civilisation. One of the objectives of these political insurrections would be, in the face of the grave and desperate situation facing the destiny of the revolution and communism, to force these traitorous leaders, who have been playing an active role as transmission belts for the decadent modern-industrialist capitalist ideology within the anti-capitalist ranks, to assume the importance of a new collapsist programme that will enable us to arm ourselves theoretically and politically for the future, hellish scenarios to which the future of history is approaching.

At the same time, in view of the First International Strike against Climate Change in the coming days, all revolutionary militants who are willing to fight to keep the faith of our species in the path of communist salvation burning are invited to contact Marxism and Collapse in order to seek forms of coordination, discussion and common political action in the few hours we have left before the beginning of the planetary apocalypse to which ecocidal capitalism has condemned us. And may it be so, then, that before the time of penitence and the hours of darkness that are approaching, the brotherhood of the righteous may flourish amidst the hecatomb to prepare the gallows of the ultimate redemption with which, at the cost of rivers of blood, the path of communism to the stars can be opened. Let's get to work! Death awaits us!
